Tough call that one, one thing I've found with Scotland, when the weather turns meh, it's pretty much the entire country. Wales ride 50 miles & you can be back in the sunshine.

You'll be at the tail end of the Scottish Midgie season for the West Coast, but it's been a bumper year as my bikes will testify to. We usually have a decent end to September though, but never guaranteed.
I suppose, if you are camping, you can decide a day in advance and flip a coin.
