any ideas what these apertain to?
sifting through pics for the photo chain came across this one, unsure where certainly France possibly Dordogne or near, whilst winging a bit of trails a couple of years ago in a wooded area with multiple trails some had some heavy use from knobblies so duly followed one always a dodgy thing to do solo on a loaded GS12, anyway I came across these signs more than one. Just nosy anyone know what they are about, any connection to the bike activity.

There special stage signs, for a rando/enduro, normally with spectator access.

You did well if you got round a french rando special stage on a GS1200 ! Some of them are vicious, and they've had us stymied several times on enduro bikes. Luckily there's usually a 'pink' route as well as a red one.
And full marks for using the word apertain. I shall try to use it at least 5 times today, depending on the situation I can get it to apertain to.

I think they are either Quercus petraea (sessile oak) and Quercus robur (pedunculate oak), probably the latter.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank whomsoever invented the word ‘plethora’, it means a lot to me.

Ride in the twilight and you can legitimately use the word "crepuscular".daveuprite wrote: ↑Fri May 29, 2020 9:38 am And full marks for using the word apertain. I shall try to use it at least 5 times today, depending on the situation I can get it to apertain to.

Well apertaining to all this, at 9pm tonight I shall take a plethora of steps as part of my crepuscular walk in the garden to check on our pendunculate oaks. Smashing.

I'm quite proud of how enormously off-topic we've managed to drag this thread. Good work.
