I think it could be a good year to take a tent and a lot of noodles and packed meals and head to Norway. I dont fancy my chances of having an enjoyable trip to Spain this year.

I suspect wherever you intend to head the scenario will probably be the same. As for the olive press article, I don’t know how accurate it is but the way restart is laid out it’s quite plausible that it could happen that way.

I'd hoped to be in the Pyrenees in June, it's cancelled, thought September for the same might be nice. I suspect that that won't happen, so a trip nearer to home is now my objective / hope.

Just as long as you can afford the mandatory 2 week quarantine that is currently in force, for foreign visitors.
Hotels aren't cheap...

the clue was in the title boys as in post, lets hope some opportunity does come for us to travel I did not go last year, the first time for many years without a Euro trip. Itching to go this year, as it is I will settle for a tame week somewhere/anywhere.

I'm beginning to wonder if Scotland might be an idea when the time comes, if they keep the law allowing wild camping.

We'll certainly be needing IDP's to enter the EU as they won't recognise our Driving Licences.

Times may have changed but we never needed IDPs before the mighty EU.
I guess the rest of the EU will need them to come here then.

As a tour operator, I am hit from both the sides but lets not loose our hope. Keep our minds positive and learn from the scenarios.
Much of the tourism industry built its financial strategy around a trouble-free future, planning for eternal blue skies: open borders; high tourism demand, an $8 trillion industry that defies the ups and downs of the market. Industry watchers predict a quick bounce back for tourism, despite the current doom-and-gloom headlines. They point out that travel rebounded quickly after other pandemics and disasters, including 9/11. The only thing to keep in mind is that you have to assess your own risk tolerance, take reasonable and prudent precautions, and make smart decisions about your travel... Stay Safe!!
