I’m just about to try and cancel three and a half grands worth of train tickets for a railway journey to Northern Italy via France, Belgium, Germany and Switzerland. Eleven different trains x four passengers. That’s going to be fun, as I’ve paid all up front. Vouchers are of no use as was to be a last trip for my Oldman, who probably will never be in a position/well enough to undertake such a trip again.

Tough times especially when 'time' becomes the priority .............. been there ....... thoughts are with you.

I've had an email from Brittany Ferries saying that if I accept the voucher and use it for a future booking, they will give me an extra 15% off the booking. Someone at BF is good at PR

This is what i got today. I've got a Flexi ticket. I emailed them about 9 days ago and still waiting for a response to that.

We'll shortly be taking payment of the final balance

Dear Mr L

Your booking reference: C

The final balance of £396.00 for your upcoming sailing will be taken from the card provided on 13/04/2020.

If you're concerned about the risk of cancellation as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 disruption, please note your booking can be amended free of charge from as little as 4 hours before departure for Flexi tickets or up to 2 weeks before departure for Standard tickets, when using the manage my booking facility at brittany-ferries.co.uk

In the event of any disruption to your sailing in the coming weeks, we'll notify you at the earliest opportunity.

Thank you for your choosing Brittany Ferries, we look forward to welcoming you on board soon.

Kind regards

I was listening to a fiance expert on the telly box, yesterday. This topic was raised, about installments and final payment. The basic answer was: if you don't pay the final or any installment, then you are breaking the contract, resulting in no chance of a refund. The 'expert' said the only way of getting a refund is to pay all the installments.
I'm not an expert mind, just telling people what I heard.
I'm in the same err boat (sorry  ) but paid in full, on the economy deal £650 :?

As I know you’re not a troll - this statement makes me very sad for the society we live in. It won’t be Covid 19 that destroys our world as we know it but human sentiments like this.

We’ve got 6 x one way ferry bookings for this summer and will take the vouchers. I don’t think the French government will let Brittany Ferries go bust - it’s not “fuck em” Britain
Brittany ferries have been very helpful in the past to us with vouchers (even when we’ve cancelled). Perhaps, given the circumstances, they will allow transfers and people can sell the vouchers they are unable to use.

I have had a few things like that over time and always excellent to deal with. I think they look after people well. I used them 6 or 7 times in the last year and due to weather 4 disruptions well looked after.

Maybe they do and maybe they don't.
We were with them one year and the crew went on strike and we were supposed to get a ferry back here from St Malo.
They put us on a ferry from Calais to Dover with another company though they did refund us money for a stay in a hotel and fuel to Calais.
Not a very pleasant drive from St Malo to Calais as it's a fair old trek.
