Dolomites

We did a 6 day tour from Calais to The Dolomites and back again in 2015 so we probably only spent 2 to 3 full days there but it was very, very good. We came in from The Lake Constance direction then went up the Timmelsjoch Pass and down the other side into Italy, ending up in Cortina which was very nice. The Timmelsjoch is particularly good on the Austrian side as it’s got long (ish) straights in between tight corners so you can really get a move on (if that’s your thing ). The Italian side is a lot tighter and slower but still spectacular. You even get a sticker to prove that you’ve ridden/driven it .

Same way we went last September. It's pretty spectacular isn't it.

The cafe at the motorcycle museum was pretty good too.

And my CRF 250 Rally wears the sticker with pride......

I didn't specify an entry point as I was hoping for the guys who had been to suggest a route. Pompey/Caen is my normal Euro entry route, but I have been known to use the Chunnel which means an M25 deep joy journey for me

Thanks for the suggestions so Mrs is still planning her walking holiday, so I am lokking at riding out and back to add to my trip other than that I have no restrictions.

Our route was

Via the tunnel to Lens for overnight stop in the "B&B hotel" highly recommended.
Lens to Ribeauville for campsite in the town. It's near Colmar. (The rest of the trip we were camping)
Ribeauville to Friedrichshafen on Lake Konstanz.
Fiedrichshafen to Pozza Di Fassa in the Dolomites. Loads of hotels here.
We had two weeks and weren't in a rush. It's doable in two days, but it'd be a mission, even on a big bike (I was on my 250 Rally) and you'd need to go nearly all motorway. We went on the D roads for the scenery, but I understand the time constraints.
Coming back we went via lake Como, Interlaken in Switzerland and Avallon in France. We missed out the Stelvio, it was under a foot of snow the day we left the Dolomites.
We did go over the Grimsel and the Furka passes though.
The Dolomites are stunning by the way.

Day 1 Calais, to Reims, to Labaroche eastern France in the Vosges...a long day
Day 2 Labaroche, to Lake Constance, to Arlberg in the Austrian Tyrol...a long day
Day 3 Arlberg, to The Timmeljoch Pass, to Cortina in Italy...a long day
Day 4 Cortina to Zams in the Austrian Tyrol...a long day
Day 5 Zams to Labaroche...a long day
Day 6 Labaroche to Calais...a long day

We did nearly 1800 miles... ...it was long days …but enjoyable...
