As DavidS's comments above.....excepting that I haven't done N America apart from a week in New York, that is. Following your very readable trip reports has now got the old travel juices flowing for that part of the world ☺

Re: North America, First and Second.
No bikes but free shuttle to Newark Airport, free AirTrain to Newark Station and then we had to pay.
Two return tickets to New York Penn, not Newark Penn....that was the trains 1st stop, we needed it’s 3rd. Slightly confusing but we got there.
When we came out of the station we saw The Empire State Building. Let’s go there then.
We were now in flat out tourist land. The land of “standing in line” and people doing that weird pouting face whilst taking a selfie.....and then standing at the amazing view point for five minutes, in your way, whilst they post said selfie to various social media platforms. I dare say that there was a bit of photoshopping going on too....
It was actually a great way to spend an hour or so. A Wow! The views were incredible. The history of the building also. The people that built it and 1930’s health and safety!!!
After a quick drink at a Wendy’s we made our way towards Central Park. Grand Central Station was just that. A fantastic building. The craftsmanship that must have gone in to that project, a bit of a Wow! I’d say. One of the times that we stopped to check our progress on the map we happened to be next to Trump Tower.
We went in, did the photo thing, made a donation....I had a pee....and left. I got high fived by a Donald alike at the door, much cheaper suit and a rubber mask, but it made us laugh.
Next door....Tiffany’s !! We went in...I held me breath....a couple of chaps had been talked in to purchasing diamonds and the like for their significant others....one was brought a glass of water....we exited...credit card intact.....aaannnnd relax...exhale.
Central Park was packed. Horse and carriage rides, peddle tuk tuks, screaming kids, shitting dogs, a zoo, music....
Next was a walk along Broadway. Times Square, Macy’s department store (largest store in the world? So it said) for a rucksack purchase, a nightly lit diner.
Now, Juniors the diner. New York is famous for Hot Dogs. There was a half pound foot long hot dog on the menu, sauerkraut, sweet pickles and fries.....it’d been rude not to.
After Macy’s it was station, the mornings journey in reverse and back to the hotel.
Having walked about 9 miles we had tired feet, despite escaping Tiffany’s my credit card was a bit jaded too.
All in all a good day out.
Two happy people, two pairs of tired feet.

Balto the famous sled dog from way back. I think it was a medicine mercy run in Alaska way back. Balto was the lead dog I think.
There is now a long distance sled race called the Iditarod I think. No pics of Tiffany’s....I couldn’t hold the camera still enough.

Well, that's the only part of your entire trip where I can say 'done all that'.... Empire State, Central Park, Station etc. ! So definitely preferred reading the preceding 99%! And our credit card did take a bit of a hit at Tiffany's. But, all in all, NY was great fun and is surely a great way to end ☺
