if you email Honda and ask for a certificate of conformance, they'll send you one in the post free of charge. That, together with the V5, should get you exemption from the charge.
Here's how to do it.

and this page for getting your certificate.

Thanks I did try this route, but Honda have no test results of NOX emissions for either the Africa twin or the Dominator, so can't supply me with conformance cert's. .........Bugg*r !

There was an article on the BBC news today stating there was now a testing station for bikes that did not have the figures supplied by manufacturers

What What What !!?..Where?
Next Sunday is the last day for my Dommie . I've just bought my Ulysses down to London. , and it's NOT a bike for city riding but it's the only bike I have that's clean enough for Mr Khan. Now if I could just get the NX or an AT tested it could be a different story. I've done a bit of a search since you posted but can't find anything. Do you have any info on location ?

Yep, looks like the the new Ultra LEZ will have a 2007 cut-off date for bikes. That's based on the unavailability of NOx data for bikes before that date. Which will leave owners of bikes manufactured before that date needing to prove that their bikes can pass an NOx test. Probably easy for many bikes, but the test will tell.

I did a quick search online after posting but could find any information the article did state it was backed by the ULZ company so Id say there may be more news over the coming days

EDIT Here https://www.motorcyclenews.com/news/201 ... ulez-test/

Riders of older motorcycles in London have been handed a lifeline thanks to a new TfL-approved emissions testing centre being set up that should see many older bikes be exempted from the upcoming ULEZ (Ultra Low Emissions Zone) charge.

On April 8, the Capital introduces the new ULEZ in a further bid to improve air quality. To enter this zone, all motorcycles which are not compliant with Euro3 (ie made pre-2007) will have to pay £12.50 per day.

Is my old bike going to cost more to ride in London?
Not necessarily. As TfL are currently only intending to crack down on vehicles with excessive NOx emissions and many pre-2007 bikes actually produce less than the 0.15 g/km limit TfL have set, so older bikes could be exempt as long as owners can prove their low NOx emissions.

Some bikes were tested for this when manufactured but many were not, so until now there was no way of proving a bike’s emissions were under the limit. Now, however, Riverbank Motorcycles, which is the only TfL-approved facility for testing bikes, has removed that problem.

How does it work?
It’s been set up by John Rusby and Neil Freeman at Riverbank Motorcycles just by the London Olympic Park. It’s similar to a motorcycle dyno, however they have had to source new exhaust gas measuring equipment and develop their own test that meets the rigors of the emissions standards.

Bikes are placed on the dyno, run through the test three times, which involves idling, acceleration and deceleration, and an average is then taken. Much like an MoT, the result is a straight pass or fail.

“Well maintained, properly set-up and cared-for bikes stand a much better chance of meeting the standard and passing the test,” says Freeman. “However, there are certain problems that will guarantee a fail; such as leaking inlet manifolds or badly fitting air filters.”

If a bike passes the test, the results are uploaded straight to the TfL database resulting in an exemption. But even if a bike fails it’s not the end of the world. Sometimes simple maintenance is all that’s needed to get the bike within the correct levels. Although, even then, not all bikes will be able to meet the standards.

For more information, or to book a test for your bike, go to www.nationalemissionstestcentre.com The tests costs £175.

Thank for the info ! Pricey but worth a shot...... As an after though ? Although MOT centres can't do tests, I took a one of a kind bike, built from scratch to be tested at the VOSA testing centre ( in Leighton Buzzard) for SVA approval couple of weeks ago, they too did emissions testing. I'll ring them and see if they can do a reasonably priced check before taking it to the official centre. Stay tooned . 8-)

How the hell can they apply emmision testing to bikes and still rip us off for road tax or ved... Just because manufacturers didnt test the bikes when new...

Another reason never to enter the hell that ia London..

Thing is.........over 40 years old is exempt too. I have 2 1984 bikes that in 5 years can be freely used.

Now has anyone got a nice Kawasaki H2 and nits exempt despite achieving 15 miles per gallon because 50% went out the exhaust unburnt.....

Or a nice old Bultaco or Maico or such like.

This is a concealed plan to bring back the BSA Bantam and Tiger Cub........
1992 K100LT June 2010 110,000 miles
1984 K100RT July 2013 36,000 miles, 90,000
1983 K100RS Nov 2018 29,000 miles, 58,600 miles
1996 K1100LT Oct 2020 37,990 miles, 48,990 miles
1984 K100 Sprint March 2023 58,000 miles, 62,000 miles

Im assuming by the information provided in the article, that they need specialist approved equipment not normally available at a standard MOT centre.
