Hi, will be staying in Killarney during the summer, then doing Ring of Kerry next day, so looking for a town perhaps 50 miles or so NE of Killarney to spend the next night on way back to catch Belfast ferry
Much appreciated

Re: Recommend a town for overnight stay 50 miles from Killarney
After doing the WAW anti clockwise four years ago, we rode back to the south in two days, to Kenmere if I remember correctly, and stopped halfway, literally, in Athlone. The heart of Ireland. It’s probably further than you want to ride, nearer 150 miles I would guess. We stayed in a cheap hotel with safe parking in the town, and found some great pubs and restaurants on the river. Can’t for the life of me remember the name of the hotel, but would recommend Athlone as a place to overnight.

Thanks chaps, that’s just the feedback I was looking for. I saw Nenagh too, but was hoping for some 1st hand feedback.
Much appreciated

What have you in mind as its feasible to do that in the one day without a stop.
Your direct route will probably take you to Adare and on to the M7 all the way to Dublin M50 then M1 north to Belfast. Ride time before adding stops etc about 4 1q/2 hours
However there are some rather pleasurable cross country routes and you could go Adare/Limerick/Galway them M4 East to Athlone then cross country north east.
A rather nice non motorway route could take you Killarney/Mallow/Mitchelstown/turn off for Limerick, then turn off for Tipperary by Glen of Aherlow, then across to Birr, Athlone and overnight there.
Re read the first post, after you finish on Ring of Kerry head North East to Adare/Limerick M7 and maybe a little further Nenagh/Roscrea/Killaloe. Killaloe on the lake is a very nice place to spend an evening and not too far off M7 for your next days travel.
