Bike hire in cape town?

Post by tempesc »

Hi all

Where should I rent a dual sport in/near Cape Town? Interested to hear any experiences you have had with specific rental companies if you have rented recently (i’ve had good and bad experiences in the past).

By way of background, I’m off there for a couple of weeks riding in November (Baviaanskloof, Die Hel, and the mountains round/in Lesotho). I keep an XT660z in RSA (my brother lives there) but am taking a pal and need to rent a bike for him.

Appreciate any insights.

Cheers
Andy

I've got a 2004 F650GS (The single cylinder one) stored at my Mums near JHB, it's been sat for a few years now, but should start up with a new battery as I removed the old one. I serviced it just before I laid it up, but guessing it's too far away from CPT really.

My riding buddy was in CPT in 2016 I think and here's a quote from him on bike rental there:
The Wild Dogs ZA kindly pointed me to Cape Bike Rental and Joerg sorted me out with an F700GS for the five days

Thanks Daniel, appreciate the offer.

As you say JHB is a bit far for it to be practical, but Cape Rental were one of the companies I found on the web and if our buddy had a good experience i’ll give them a crack (and report back).
