Poor birdie....sliced in two, or more, in Sarah’s front wheel.
It had gone in the morning and as it looked more than just stunned, I guess it became a meal for something.

Staying by the sea is nice. Being virtually on the beach even better.
That is until the weather gets a bit rougher and your bikes get covered in sea salt.
I hate salt on my bike!
I’ve never ridden it on salted U.K. winter roads.
I hate salt on my bike.

Although there were lots of hosepipes on the holiday park, rinsing of vehicles was prohibited.
The hose at the nearby boat ramp was a mythical being so I was a tad fed up with the situation.

We fuelled up before leaving Dongara but they didn’t have a hose.
Finding a hose became a bit of a thing for me and I must admit that it became a bit of cloud on my day.

Wanting to go to Yanchep to see some Koalas, we took the Indian Ocean Drive.
On the map it looked like it was right on the coast but it didn’t quite work out that way. It did however, take us to the Pinnacles. Another Wow!
As we’d purchased a Park Pass back in Kalbarri, no further payment was required.
It was quite busy but well worth the visit and we found stickers in the ‘tat’ shop.

Still wanting a hose pipe to rinse the bikes we headed to a campsite that I’d found online. It looked good on the website, I wasn’t quite so sure when we pulled in, but they had a site available, it was inexpensive, and they had a hose.....and water!

I know that that sounds a bit weird but when I’d asked about rinsing the bikes in Jurien Bay I was told that no one would let me use their water.

But hey, a pitch, a hose and some water. It was 5 o’clock but my day was back on track.
Dinner was from our supplies, Corned Beef, Baked Beans and Mashed Potatoes. Tasty.
Desert was half a choc-mint protein ball thing.
We had enough (Long life) milk with us for lots of tea and also our Weet-Bix this morning. Oh yes!

This morning was a leisurely start. I’ve already covered the Weet-Bix breakfast but that’s what we had. The last of the box. Less to carry....always good.

We wandered off just after 10 and went to the Yanchep National Park. The park pass came out again and through the barrier we rode.
A quick lap of the shop before an important question was asked.
Tea?
Don’t mind if I do?

So tea+cake+people watching= fun/time well spent.
The park has a Koala programme, not TV, a programme to look after the animals that have been displaced or injured.
Anyway, there are supposed to be eight of them living there at the moment and we spotted five or six. It was great to see them as they are very hard to spot in the wild apparently, especially going along on a bike.
The photos are not that good, the zoom feature isn’t as good on the phone Camara as it is on the Camara that we bought especially for this type of thing before the trip.
That was locked in a pannier for safe keeping......

We have accommodation booked in Perth from Sunday and as it’s Saturday today and we are in Perth (ish) we had to find somewhere to stay tonight.
Discovery Parks have been good and the one here seems much like the others. A few more kids running about but it’s the weekend.
Now, Discovery Parks have everything from an unpowered Campsite to a 2 or 3 bedroom cabin.
Sarah went to book in, as rain has been forecast we thought that if a cabin was available we’d go for that.
Imagine my delight when she appeared back out of reception with a key!
Wahoo! We’ve got a cabin!!!
Er, no, it’s the key to the shower block.

Bugger!

So here I am, laying in the tent typing this and listening to the rain pattering on the fabric......

Two happy people, two (wet) happy bikes.
