Bike packed and ready to go.

Well just back from taking the bike for a test ride with all the gear on. She handled really well as the weight distribution is helped a lot by the front panniers.

The right hand pannier contains tent, sleeping mat, 2 x lightweight sleeping bags, travel pillow and sleeping bag silk liner. In the outer pockets are 3x 1 litre empty metal bottles to fill with duty free.

The left hand pannier has all cooking and eating utensils plus enough meals for 4 days as a back up when wild camping. Also it has a helinox chair on the top.

The front right pannier has waterproofs, over boots, tyre weld and winter tyre grip.

The front left pannier has tools and spares.

All clothes are in the dry bag on the back seat along with guide books and some paperwork. There is also a small empty bag on the rack for on the road purchases of groceries etc.

The tank bag has all the electronics and valuables inside.

I leave on Friday for Nordkapp via the tunnel. Planning just over 20 days give or take. The uprated suspension really comes into it's own when loaded up like this.

It's good to have a space for shopping. :D
And now, Harry, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.

I love taking this 'leaving pic' of the bike all loaded with clean stuff and well-organised. If you're anything like me, within a couple of days touring everything is spread about and impossible to find, or bungied on top because I can no longer fit it in to the panniers. And within a week it's all gloriously covered in dirt and crap.

Have a great trip and enjoy the midnight sun...

Yeah nothing seems to go back the same, especially when you are trying to pack it in a small tent with the rain pissing it down outside.

I'm heading up the quick route then meandering back so maybe we will. I can PM you my number if you would like in case you get stuck or something?

Enjoy your trip. Norway was a favourite when I went up to Nordkapp in 2014.

Happy days.
