It's a captive market so can more or less charge what they want, pisses me off every time I take a ferry abroad but it's simple really, you want to ride your bike abroad, cough up the cash.

I've actually hired a bike the last two times I've done Spain purely due to logistics and time, it's not cheap but it gets the job done.
