Re: Switzerland trip
I went to a tenere rally back in 2013, and we camped nr chur, was very handy to do alot of passes and even went to lake como for a days ride out. Back in September this yeat we stopped at Flumserberg- Tobden, on the way back from venice via stelvio pass we stopped in a hotel up a mountain, didn't do much riding there just chilled out but plenty to do off the bikes.

+1 to Chur, a lovely place and very central.
Be prepared for a mix of heat and possible rain though.

Beat me to it.
Take a look at Andermatt, you can do Furka, Grimsel Susten and Oberalp passes.

We stopped at Interlaken Manor Farm, by lake Thun, it's a campsite but they have a hotel too. In early season and it was fab. Short ride to the south east and you're in the big passes as mentioned above. On another day out I plotted a route to the north which took us through forrest trails and "mountain bike" routes which was also good.
There's a ferry on the lake which is free to campers and takes you to Interlaken itself where there are a few shops and eateries and a station if you fancy a daytrip somewhere.
It's no more expensive than Scandinavia and you may have to consider a vignette for motorways. I think you'll be in high season so it will be dearer and probably quite busy.

Yep Andermatt is excellent. All the passes are on the doorstep. I stayed at this place for a night - v.good:

And it had a naked jakuzi to bubble around in after a day in the saddle...
Re: Switzerland trip
Innertkirchen is a good location its at the junction of Grimsel and Susten passes .
We have stopped at the http://www.hotel-hof-post.ch/ cost is very reasonable usually about 65cf for half board. Going there again next September.
