Do you have to book the camping or can you just turn up?

I have only ever - just turned up. Checkout some of the B&Bs local as they are quite cheap. As I recall Bokki was a tadge expensive, I thought, but handy clean and quite. HTHY

I'm not sure camp Bokki is open.Their web site was showing as closed . There are other camp sites in area and you can wild camp at the start of the event ,depends what facilities you require.

Thanks for that; just turning up and winging it sounds good...especially if camping at the Refuge is allowed ( and free!)

Never done this event but it sounds fun :)

I agree, its a great event and definitely worth a visit. I found I could get a room in a hotel for only a few euro more than the bokki campsite wanted. If you have the time and fancy a day off from riding take the train to Turin. It costs next to nothing and is a great city to visit. With a bit of effort you can get onto the banked circuit on the roof of the old Fiat factory where the Italian Job mini scene was filmed :)

OK, The travel company who had it as 13/14th has now changed their details to 6th/7th. So I am now working around that date as confirmed. Despite the FB page for Stella Alpina 2018 still showing the 2nd week in July.

I think the 5/6/7th is now the right date.

There has been serious amounts of snow in the alps this year, so the top of the pass may be impossible, going for my first time this year
