Expanding on from the thread on Spanish traffic bollox.
I'm sure there must be other instances of traffic laws in other countries which are different to The UK.
I'll start,
In some US States it's legal to ride without a helmet, but illegal to ride without eye protection.
Which I find pretty sensible.
Also, one law in Germany that I fell foul of......You can't tow a trailer in lane two of a two lane Autobahn, unless there is a sign specifically permitting it.......€60, Danke!
Traffic Laws in different countries
Re: Traffic Laws in different countries
The simple truth is its a legal requirement to know the road rules and law in any countrt you visit...simple isnt it...but how many uk citicens know the full highway code...not many judging by driving standards....
Just read the countrt specific laws ..or is that too hard or ignorant..

HGV driver?.....are you the one in the middle lane overtaking the other HGV driver who's going 0.5 mph slower, causing a mile long tail back?
Or the other HGV driver who swings out into the middle lane after flashing his indicator a couple of times, expecting everyone to get out of your way?
No, you're probably not, but it's easy to get on your high horse buddy.
I'm just trying to have a bit on banter on the world's differing traffic laws....not just Europe's.

In defence of Lorry drivers, they are as cyclists entitled to drive at a conmensurate speed with their vehicle capabilitys and overtake where appropriate even at 0.5mph ahead of the opposit.......er other drivers which at 50 mph may be all they have left on the speed limiter.
