Driving your car to Paris, Lyon or Grenoble-new regs for cars

Post by SIF »

New Law for Driving in France
Deadline date 31st March 2017
The French government have launched a new scheme for all cars driving in Paris and other French cities (currently Lyon and Grenoble) which will include British registered cars.
From 31/03/2017 your car needs to display an emissions sticker showing the age and cleanliness of your vehicle.
If your vehicle does not display the sticker you could face hefty on the spot fines.
The anti-pollution sticker can only be ordered on-line from the official Crit’ Air website

The website says it's voluntary so how can there be hefty fines?

And what good, pray tell, will a sticker do to help the environment.
It's getting silly now.

Only saying what I've read.
Taken from the government website.

It says "Is it mandatory?"
"The certificate is only mandatory in certain areas"

Germany has had this for years. I applied for a sticker so I could go into the center of Berlin, and even though my car was Euro 3, they sent me a euro 4 sticker so I could go anywhere. Its a pointless exercise just to raise revenue.

Ah A typical good old French approach and information to confuse most.
It is voluntary and not mandatory however it is mandatory in certain areas by that local authority :silly: clear as mud (thumbs)
