MotoFreight for shipping

Post by OnHellas »

Having used MotoFreight to arrange packing and airfreight of our sidecar outfit to New York last June and having them receive and look after it on its return from Buenos Aires last week, I would like to give a big thumbs up for Roddy and Kathy.

Were they the cheapest? Maybe not.
But.....throughout my dealings with them everything they said that they would do they did. Everything they said would happen, happened.
They were happy to drop us off/collect us from the station.
They were happy to store the outfit for a week before I could go and get it.
They took care of us, our bike and were friendly, professional and very enthusiastic about our travels all through our dealings with them.
There was tea.

If you have a bike to move around the world you could do a lot worse than MotoFreight, in my opinion.

My recommendation level? 100%

Guys

if you don't mind me asking what were approximate costs? We are looking to possibly ship to Canada return next year so costs should be roughly the same?

The best thing to do is give them a call. They are unlikely to be able to give you an exact price but certainly an idea.
We paid a fair bit more as we have a sidecar, obviously much bigger, and we had to have a crate specially made. MotoFreight have their own purpose built crates for solo bikes. They buy them in bulk so are much cheaper than a one off.

We paid around £1900 air freight, London Heathrow to New York JFK. The crate was around £550.

As I've already said, the service was top notch.

I have just chosen motofreight to fly my bike to washington dc, return shipping from los angeles heading out this september. The gut feeling in choosing them was as you stated, so it seems I have made the right decision. They where not the cheapest or most expensive but provided a full costing with the only extra possibly being a$10 fee for crate disposal. For anyone interested in the costs involved. To have my honda crf250l picked up and dropped at my house (lincolnshire) on completion including transit insurance, all crating , flight from manchester to washington, ship from los angeles to felixstowe, (including customs clearance) £2200. This is for a 5 week trans america trip of my lifetime. so cost is irrelevant to me. Nice to hear good reports of this company, thanks for all the replies.

We used them to ship my bike to Africa and back again three months later.

I have nothing but praise for them and Econotrans, the agent they used at the other end.

Friendly, super efficient, honest, no extras. I will certainly use them again.

Nowadays, the process of shipping of cars increases in demands. Yes, I had heard that Moto Freight is the international motorcycle transport specialists. but there are varieties other options are available when we want to ship a car from one place to another. Last month a group of my friends had transported their car to Canada from California by hiring We Will Transport It services who had transported our cars in good working order before and after delivery.
