Anyone Stopped in Any of These?

Planning a Scotland tour at the end of May next year with my 15 year old son, my mate and his 12 year old son on a KLV and a V-Strom (same bikes, just 1 is orange with Kawasaki on the tank :) ). On previous tours, me and my son have always camped, but I'm fed up with all the setting up/packing up day after day, and all the gear makes the bike top heavy, so I'm going either hostels or B&B next time. Camping would be ok if we were setting a base and coming back every night, but we're moving on every day.

The routes I've planned are dictated by ending at a place to stay every night hopefully with somewhere to get a meal close by. However, I've only used a B&B once (last night of last year's trip), and never been in a hostel, so I'm pretty green when it comes to them. I'm leaning towards hostels as they're usually cheaper from what I've looked at.

So I've picked out the following places for each stop over, and (probably a long shot for all of them) if anyone's used any of them in the recent past, I'd appreciate your verdict. Or, alternatively, if there are any recommended places near any of these, that would be welcome too.

Here we go in order of days we'll reach them. I've attached our routes to give an idea of the areas we'll reach at the end of each day (I hope these work):

Night 6 we'll be heading back towards home in Durham but nothing really in place yet. Maybe stop in the Dumfries area. Again, Hostel or Bunkhouse will be on the cards.

So there we have it. Any reviews/comments etc on the accommodation or anything better for roughly the same money nearby any of these will be appreciated. None of these are booked yet, so we're still flexible on where to stay. Comments on the routes also welcome, but these are roughly where we'll be heading with only very minor alterations (if any).

Thanks,

Andy

Not stayed in any of those, but have stayed in Wigwams on a family holiday before. Good, cheap alternative to camping: http://www.wigwamholidays.com/locations.aspx. Roughly £35 a night, IIRC.

Stayed in the Pitlochry hostel a few years back, would recommend.

Decent enough place, good showers, etc. Friendly vibe in the common room. Handy car park round the back although no access from the hostel.
