Hi All,
I have the last week of August off work and am considering either:
- Snowdonia & Brecon Beacons
- North York Moors
- Lake District?
What would you suggest and why? Open to other ideas. I'm just looking for a few days away on my motorbike (F800GS) camping and exploring.
I'll be at the Overland Event on Sunday/Monday so Monday night I'll be dropping the Mrs back off at home and the world's my lobster, or something like that.
Open to green laning should anyone wish to come with or help out.
For what it's worth I am based in North Lincolnshire.
Thanks in advance
Steve

If you're going the North Yorkshire area - have a look here:
http://www.ushagap.co.uk/
Its the most beautiful site, in the heart of Swaledale. They welcome loads of bikers - its not expensive, they have a brand new little block for showers etc, and will look after you
The ride in and out - is breath taking - and takes in the famous Buttertubs pass.
There's quite a few green lanes to do around the Hawes area - and the Farmers Arms Pub is about 400 metres from the campsite. They do brilliant foods and local ales too (thumbs)
(Its my cousins pub! Lol)
We go all the time -its gorgeous!
You can also explore all of the North Yorks Area from there - and nip across to the lakes for a day too - again, the ride in and out on that route - is phenomenal!

I would definitely give The Lake District a miss in August, it'll be packed..
Snowdonia perhaps less so, I would take the North Yorks Moors...

Ushagap is good, although its a few years since I camped there, pubs still good though. After a couple of days there I recommend Dent, nead Sedburgh. Brilliant campsite, nice village, couple of good pubs. And of course some great riding.

Dent is a great village with a few good campsites and a few nice pubs along the cobbled street.
We usually camp here on our way down to the MAG Farmyard event every year.
