Out of interest, what is the surface like on the river crossings?
I remember reading a spy novel by Desmond Bagley in the 70's which described a trip across Iceland in a Land Rover, one thing I do recall from it was to cross glacial streams, first thing in the morning!

It's not so much the depth that catches you out, it is the strong fast current pushing the side of the bike.
Yes it is better to cross the glacial rivers in the morning.
This year we took 25 bikes on two trips from Spuds 350,690,990 upto Hp2's and 1200 GSA's only had 1 drowned Hp2
