I contacted The Spanish Biker (Simon) for a lot of historical information prior to setting off. The HISS has great reviews and Simon has a tremendous amount of knowledge regarding Spain!

I would like to do a trip for about a week at some point this year. I was thinking about the Picos or maybe some of the Trans Portugal route - http://www.wikiloc.com/wikiloc/view.do?id=79539
Trouble is in Sept/Oct I'm not free til 3rd week in Oct and I guess the days are getting a bit short by then. I'll keep an eye on this thread though, always handy getting ideas on where to go.
