About the train thing here is the link http://www.treinreiswinkel.nl/autotrein ... dorf-wenen
when i went to Salzburg some of the others did not want to ride all that way
so got the train, while we took our time from Hook, on wards, spent a week in Austria, then gentile ride back to Hook 15 min home once in uk (thumbs)

There's an article in the current Ride about transportation options and it includes prices.

Ali's in Austria is a couple of days from the south coast then you are down into Slovenia, Croatia (D8 coast road a must). We took a nice three days back from the Dalmatian coast so you could with planning get a week exploring Croatia and it is worth it. I have a couple of campsites and gravel trails we used but its all good there.
The secret of a long life is knowing when its time to go.

I'm sure i read somewhere that there is a transport company that will take your bike down to Bulgaria and you can fly down - does it ring any bells with anyone? Cheers

Plitvice lakes and Pula coliseum in Croatia. And the food, awesome food. We ordered a plate of 'prawns' and got served about 20 grilled langoustines.

One of the many pleasures of Split is the evenings entertainment here:

they take your order when you're sat on the cushions in the square, and then bring out your drinks, which you then pay for.
