Morocco in August and mid life crisis

Post by Lolo »

I previously posted worrying about the heat in Morocco in August and got some interesting and some very useful answers. The Neck ties which have gel in and you soak in water were a god send, Fantastic who ever mentioned them. (thumbs) The Camelbak was useful to. Well I survived! Due to a none biking injury to my partner on the trip which meant we stayed in one country for a lot longer than we planned ( he could not ride his bike due to slicing his hand and an artery by falling on a bottle of beer ( it was full too!) :woohoo:  we had a mid life crisis. In 18 months time we will be selling everything we own and move to Portugal where we will be buying a house and hopefully building a campsite......Madness it may be but theres nothing like an adventure! :woohoo: Here is this years tour video hope you like

Better to have a heart half full of memories than a head full of regrets.

What are the gel neck tie things you mentioned?

I'm off somewhere hot soon so they might be just what I need.

Cheers

They are neck ties that you soak in water for 20 minutes and the gel inside soak up the water so they look like giant sausages. Lasted for ages keeping my neck cold and therefore head and brain in the helmet. They were a fiver off ebay. Best buy for the trip! :)

Fantastic! I wish you much luck in that venture although I'm sure you'll have 100s of bikers knocking on your campsite door before you're actually open! (thumbs)

Well done you for having a great time in August and coping with the heat.
Previously I have just soaked my buff in water and put it round my neck, do you think these neck tie things are a lot better ?

ice cubes in a buff work really well and you can just replace the cubes of course. Worked well for me at the recent HISS

cheers Spud ;)
