I'm heading down to Cornwall for a few days over Easter and am in no particular rush. I was considering heading over to Pembrokeshire for a look, i've never been but have heard great things about it.
I will only really be passing through but does anyone have any must see/ride places or roads. I'm looking to stay one night, is wild camping an option if so where, if not does anyone have any particular campsite recomendations ( the more basic the better)
Thanks in advance

Re: Pembrokeshire
have spent most of my teenage years down there, and try and escape down there at every chance.
St Davids is our normal base but I used to be caravanning around the Little Haven area.
I'd say places to go are St Davids (UK's smallest city)
Newgale (at newgale, coming from St davids take the right turn before heading up the hill, carrying along the beach road- you'll follow signs for Broad Haven/Little Haven- some great little tight lanes and great views over St brides Bay.
a brief stop at the Druidsone - great view.
Little haven Is a tiny little bay next to Broad Haven and walking up to the point is worth while.
Up to the top of the hill and left- carry along through the lanes to St Brides- another little beauty spot.
Dale- go up to St Ann's Head lighthouse- fantastic views up the haven and out to sea south/west.
the main road from Dale to HaverfordWest is a brilliant blast- vstrom boys love that one when I've led rides there. Even the mrs loves it on her 125 Marauder (thumbs)
This is my normal route- Starting at st Davids -
The Start point is near St David's lifeboat station- The campsite I usually use is called Rhosson Ganol Campsite.
Postcode SA62 6PY- there are a view fields---
Its the few linked fields above the static caravan site. Basically pick your own pitch and the owner comes around in the morning around 9am- £7 per person, per night.
Basic- grass field- Water tap and showers/toilets by the owner's house across the road. (showers get locked at 7pm)
Wild camping is generally not a good idea- the farmers tend not to like bikers and don't want people on their land- I've never met many happy farmers down there. They tend to be grumpy barstewards.
Any specific questions give me a PM

Re: Pembrokeshire
As Mr_Diver has pointed out Newgale is worth a look. Not a lot there, but there is a campsite which looked pretty decent last time I was there. Good surfing from the beach as well. A few surf shops dotted around. Great coastal walks etc etc. Very nice place. You cant miss it as you drive towards St Davids along the A487.
We stayed in Tenby which was OK. A bit touristy.

It was in the news over the winter due to the storms hitting it, so may have had some unwanted alterationsbeddowsm wrote:As Mr_Diver has pointed out Newgale is worth a look. The point at the very bottom of the route is near St Govan's Chappell

If you are going over the Preselis (well worth a spin) go and visit the Dyffryn Arms (aka Bessies place)in the Gwaun Valley via Fishguard . A pub that hasn't changed since the war: beer served in jugs through a hatch and don't worry if the bar resembles someone's front room as it is!
Re: Pembrokeshire
Newgale campsite floods regularly- It was under around 4ft of water during the jan/feb storms.
I was down there 2 weeks ago and it's still a swamp.
The farmers arms in St Davids does a fantastic scrumpy - Happy Days it's called. It will put you over the limit with 1/2 pint.
The griffon inn in Dale serves good food at fair prices.
