And the bike rider said to the upturned car driver... "Sorry, I didn't see you mate".

It's not just dodge the pot holes but the burnt out cars, tanks and bullets. Rather him than me.

Has anyone thought of riding to Syria when it calms down?
Down to Istanbul; into Turkey next stop Syria!
Who's already done it? Any good tips? (apart from a bullet proof vest).

yeah, Syria is an amazing place and such a shame to see what is happening there.
Only problem with travelling there is the unbelievable hospitality, truly humbling .
was there for a while couple of years ago, seems like last week.
the whole of the middle east was a joy to travel through.
blog is in sig, sorry the writing is not the best, but done from the heart in the heat of the moment.

Syria is closing its consular services in 5 days time. (10th Aug)
A mate of mine went through there in a Landrover a couple of months ago. No problem.

I have always found the gulf states UAE etc. people very helpful, as I suppose it is a part of there culture & religion for some by offering food at the table or a beverage.
A wealth of history to be seen, unfortunately religious zealots decide to rip down some 'other' religious artifacts, a great shame.
