Wales advice

Post by peterekins »

Planning a trip to Wales 2nd week in june. Only got 3 days, so 2 in wales. starting in the south working north, any must see places, traveling alone on a XJR 1300, so no realy small roads,I'm camping, was thinking of overnight Aberystwyth area. then north to snowden.
Like a big loop from Corby and back.
Is the A470 worth traveling? Seems to be the main road north so bit concerned about traffic, as you may be able to tell not familiar with Wales, especially the south. Cheers all in advance.

wales simples really.................;
depending where in south you want togo but theres a lot of nice big open roads in the south but from aber northwards follow the coast road up to macynlleth then head towards towyn back out to the coast and keep on it till you get to penmaenpool over the toll road to the otherside then up to barmouth coast road dyffryn ardudwy some good camping at the aelybrun pub or right next door to it cant remember name of site tho then up to porthmadog and follow coast to pwllheli then upto nefyn heading north slightly till you turn off for the b4418 to penygroes across torhydd ddu at the base of snowdon then either left or right beddgelert or waunfawr campsites.... hope these help but thers so much more i could bore you to death with roads up there
cheers john

Travelled up from Swansea last Sepember to Holyhead to get ferry. Dont know what roads we were on but basicially rode north, keeping the coast on our left,we stayed on the major road running up this part of Wales and popped down a couple of wee roads to the coast for a look-fantastic scenry, however lots of speed restrictions, but very enjoyable nontheless.
