RIP Pint Master

Post by Richard Simpson Mark II »

I've just heard from Mike Irving that Tony Lacey (AKA Pint Master on this forum) lost his battle with cancer yesterday. Mike has asked me to share this news with you all.

He'd lived with the disease for some years, and it didn't stop him enjoying life...a great companion on the trail and in the pub, and always happy to help pick your bike out of the hedge...but only after he'd got his photo!

Mike says that the cancer returned with a vengeance, and he had been unwell for the last six weeks or so.

All I can say is it is best to live as well as you can for as long as you can...and I'm sorry if that sounds trite.

That's sad, we'd not ridden with Tony for many years but always recall him and the Cambridge group he visited with as good folk.

He and Mike delivered my X-Trainer here...he was in a lot of pain with his knees, and Mike was anxious to get him home.

That's very sad news - I didn't know he him well but I got to know him as part of our TRF group activities and I've no doubt he will be missed by many.

Greetings,

I had the pleasure to meet Tony but only a couple of times. Tony was such a gentle friendly chap, so sorry to learn the news. Please pass on my condolences to Tony's family and friends.

TTFN

Hugh.
