I had an email from a Yamaha dealer - FreeStyle Chichester
Message is that the t7 will be in showrooms around April / May - with a starting price of £8,842
They are taking deposits now (apparently) ... not mine but ....

Re: New Tenere 700
Yamaha have said they'll be bringing a test fleet of T7's to the 2019 ABR Festival. Not sure yet what they have in mind - road or off road test rides - but we're mapping out an off road adventure trail and a more challenging adventure park around the Estate so they will have access should they feel so inclined.

Re: New Tenere 700
Had a look at the Yamaha website, specs look quite good though it is (to me) Fugly.
What I did notice was the magic sidestand that enables the bike to remain upright when parked atop a sand dune, fantastic stuff, I wonder if there is a worldwide patent?

Re: New Tenere 700
I reckon that it’s a good looking bike. Price wise it’s a little bit higher than I was hoping, considering what a 700 Tracer cost a couple of years ago, but hey, thing go up.
It’s certainly a lot less expensive than a BMW.
This could be a good raid/trail soft luggage Russia/Mongolia trip bike......this week anyway.....

No, of course not; the Japanese are very honest (apart from Nissan, Toshiba, Olympus, Kobe Steel.......).Cone wrote: ↑Sat Jan 05, 2019 8:29 pmThat sand looks very fake.. they wouldn’t have faked a sales photo would theyElmer J Fudd wrote: ↑Fri Jan 04, 2019 11:38 pm Had a look at the Yamaha website, specs look quite good though it is (to me) Fugly.

Re: New Tenere 700
spy shots of the new KTM 390 adventure bike are out--and solid rumours of a 500 twin. The BMW 310 GS is doing very well in the US already--apart from the massive Asian market--KTM may have literally missed the boat once the Yam is out there. Personally I'm more than happy with my 600 Transalp as it sits right in the middle of this "new" market!--talk about reinventing the wheel!!

Re: New Tenere 700
I think that the ‘wheel’ has been modified since the 600 Transalp went out of production.....bloody good bikes though.
I reckon the 700 Tenere has the potential to be a good bike.....obviously we’d all like lighter and cheaper. But it looks as though a lot more people would be happy with it on the dirt than some of the other offerings.
Time will tell...
