So i been tearing apart the 640 ktm i bought for a few hunderd quid and iam find out why it was so cheap it needs barrel re coating new piston rod the full works to make it a dream bike again....
All the parts are mismatch on plastics so not all orignal from the bike and not all there aswell as a few other peices, it as paperwork which i knew when i bought it but something just doesnt seem right with everything once ive gone throu all the parts etc i couldnt help but feel i got to good of a deal on a rolling chasis with engine the lot.
So i done a vin check cost me a few quid and i get this back
So now iam happy paperwork most be fine its not stolen and all is above board but it says that i have a 640 adventure .
Anyway iam happy with that so i thinking got an adventure 640 here for a few hundred .
So over last few days ive tryed rabbit wrench and few other places for full rebuild kits and could find a full kit so i go to ktm online parts finder to get all the parts and price everything up
So i put my vin number in for parts and i get this
Now iam baffeled i by it as a ktm 640 e ...
I did vin check and comes back as 640 daventure
And do ktm parts check and the vin says a 640 silber
I no they all have the same engine but apart from plastics which i only have a mismatch of what other way can a tell which model bike i have ???????

As stated above, silber is German for Silver. As far as I can recall, the only mechanical parts which are different between the enduro and adventure models is the gearbox ratios.
Current bike is a Yamaha T7

This should be what you bought, which is indeed a rare machine with the 18.5lt fuel tank.

See what you mean but does the adventure come up as lc640 e silber
All the paperwork says is its a ktm and then model says
ktm4t-egs or something similar not at home to check exact
