The First Bike You Bought

A James 197cc which I converted into a trials bike in 1968 when I was 15, it never go put on the road though my mum & dad bought me a mint C15T which I put on the road on my 16th birthday, I got up at 6am to ride round before I went to work om it.
You didn't take pictures of things in those days

I think this is my actual first bike which I bought in 1979 and sold 12 months later. The photo is from the Ebay listing which finished last week at 10 times what I sold it for

Sorry no picture But my First Bike Was a GT 750 "Suzuki Waterbucket" I borrowed a Mates Suzuki x5 or x7 to do the Test on.The 750 was Second Hand and i Put New Tyres on it and went to the British Motorcycle Grand Prix At Silverstone The Year it Pissed Rain all Day and Wayne Gardiner 85/86 won by a Country Mile , I found out that Weekend that the Front Discs did not work in Rain. The Regulator blew on it when i got home Paid £75 for a New one and a week Later read in the Motor Cycle News a Kawasaki Regulator did the same Job for £30. Sold it a Few weeks Later and Bought a Demonstrator Vf500f11f and Kept that for around three Years and Traded it in for a Honda Transalp and only Lost £250 from the Price i Payed for the VF50011f

Vf500 was possibly the best handling bike I ever owned until I blew the crank out of it

Hi Herman Yes a Great bike Stuck to the Roads like Glue, But was like a 2 Stroke once it went over 70 mph you could not keep petrol in it. I took it down the M1 Motorway outside Belfast one Sunday Evening No Traffic So i thought Lets see what this Bike will do , Got tucked down Chin on Tank and let her Rip i Got it up to about 120 MPH and rolled off went to sit up and the Chin Guard was Stuck under the Petrol Tank Cap and i could not lift my head up, It took me a few seconds to work out why my head would not lift up Needless to say i did not do that again Lol

Honda CD200 Benly, I spent most of it's life with me kick starting it as the electrics were never quite up to the job of whizzing up the starter - ah 6 volts. The photo isn't mine but it's same colour, proper bike that

The first bike I bought with my own money was in 1972 and it was a 1964 Triumph Tiger Sports Cub.
