Scotland for a day
Scotland for a day
I have negotiated a spare day in southern Scotland at the end of the month based in Moffat. Any must see roads within a days loop? Somewhere nice for lunch would be good and while we are at it if you could program my gps that would be good Ta muchly
The secret of a long life is knowing when its time to go.

From Bikers Britain
Moffat double loop:
Up the A701 then B7076, then B7078 then A70 towards Douglas / Muirkirk / Cummnock. Left onto the A75 the A76 towards Dumfries. Take the B757 through Wanlockhead to near to the M74. Back towards Dumfries on the A702 and oto the A76 south. Take a small road to bypass Dumfries and up the A701 back to Moffat. 130 miles, 4 hours.
The A701 north of Moffat is nice as well.

This is a good bikers hotel if you haven't booked anywhere yet Herman, plus if you scroll down there are some cracking routes available to download directly onto your sat nav.

Plus we stayed here last time we were up there and it was great too.
