Klim Badlands v Greyhound

Post by SteveW »

As I rode passed a Pikey scrapyard yesterday, I had to slow down to walking pace to make a right turn.
A Greyhound ran out from the yard and bit me on the leg.
Incredibly my Klim Badlands pants weren't punctured, even though my shin was!

Even though I'm a dog lover you should have given it a swift kick. Hope you're up to date on your shots, if not best get a tetanus jab.

Don't worry Mike, it wasn't in Cheshire!
I jumped off the bike and the bugger ran back into the yard.
I had a tetanus a couple of years ago, but the Badlands pants weren't punchered so it's teeth didn't contact my skin directly.

Hope you heal well Steve.
If it was a greyhound - rather than a lurcher - it is most unusual behaviour. I've had greyhounds all my life, currently five, have done voluntary work in rescue kennels for years and never, ever, come across an aggressive one. If it was indeed a full greyhound, it would seem the 'pikeys' are most likely to blame. Goodness knows what it has been through.
Heal well.
Greyhound Racing .... don't bet, don't go - you bet, they die

Yeah I was going to say the same I've a greyhound too, the only time he's turned nasty was when I took the lamb bone he liberated from the bin and then he only held on to my hand didn't bite!

The pikeys have just sent me the vet bills!
The point of the thread was to illustrate the toughness of the Badlands pants, my leg would have been a right mess if I'd have been wearing draggin'' jeans or similar.
It brought home to me the power and speed of a dog bite. I wouldn't have thought a Greyhound would have been in the top ten hardest biting dogs, but the bite was so quick and must have been hard to get through to break the skin with it's crushing action.
