"Road Book and GPS Navigational Challenge.
Sweet Lamb Adventure Bike Academy and Endeavour Motor Sport Club have joined up to bring you a round of navigational championships for 2018 and beyond.

These are to be held at several UK venues and one overseas event in Europe, e.g. Spanish Pyrenees, France, Turkey, Morocco, Balkans or Portugal.
Please note the emphasis of the navigational stages is not on speed but on accurate navigation. The speed element is within the prologue stage.

When:
The first event will be 14-15th October 2017.
Where:
The first event will be held at Sweet lamb Adventure Bike Academy, Wales. The remainder of UK events are yet to be announced.

How much:
£130 - this will include a prologue stage with medical
cover and a GPS/road book event. Competition liability insurance included for use on public rights of way. Free teas/coffees and BBQ on Saturday night.

How Long:
Each UK event will be held over a weekend, as a two day event. The overseas events will be held over a long weekend period of 3 days.

How does it work:
On arrival riders will sign on and complete event admin. On day one riders will complete a timed prologue stage. On day two we will upload your GPS with the route or issue roadbook rolls and set riders off on the navigation stages. You can enter as a GPS challenge or the roadbook challenge, we will provide the roadbook route only. During the navigation phase we will include speed traps, secret check points and other navigational requirements. Penalty points will be given for navigation errors and combined with your prologue time to give an overall result. We will download your route from your GPS at the end of the day.

What bike do I need:
This is open to any off road, road registered motorcycle. Each bike will be put into a class based on CC and type i.e. Enduro, Adventure etc. The tyres should have sufficient tread and capable to cope with the varied terrain, not standard road tyres. They must be road legal and we would suggest using a knobbly tyre.

What equipment do I need:
For the GPS challenge you will need a GPS capable of reading and receiving a GPX file. For the roadbook class it is advisable to use an electric road book. It is not a necessity but you may also wish to purchase an ICO computer. Highlighter pens, notebook and pens may also be useful."

Rob its rich, cheers for marking those maps up for me at the weekend, I ran away back home briefly to avoid the rain and fox the bikes but hoping to get back over that way later in the week for a day or 2.

Any chance you could help me have a quick look at the GPS of mine to see if we can get it to show what I'd need before I have to beg a different one from somewhere
