My New Ride

Post by andrew882 »

So here it is, after a good few years in the wilderness I've found my biking mojo again....

And to say I'm happy with it is a massive understatement! It seems a lot less determined to kill me at the first opportunity than the bike I bought to see if biking was still for me (a 20 year old CBR600F2, now for sale...) Riding it is a pure joy.

It's been added to by its previous owner with most of the kit needed (OK, read wanted) as he'd used it as gods intended and tooled round Morocco and Europe so no need to add any significant stuff to it - just a phone mount (it came with a mount fitted for a Garmin 660, but the previous owner had left the unit in a rental car and didn't have it any more. I was going to find a second hand one until I saw the price!!)

So there are a couple of Qs that I could use some help from the ABR hive-mind on:

- Does anyone have recommendations for a good independent BMW mechanic for servicing in the Leicestershire area? Would like to get it checked over & serviced for peace of mind...

- The bike was wrapped from new and is looking a bit tatty from luggage straps etc here and there...I'm thinking of taking it off but not sure how tricky this will be to do. Any advice/experiences?

Cheers!

Andrew
