2017 DAKAR rally...wtf...!!!

Post by flipflopdog »

Whats going on, just scrolled back 10 pages and not a single post on the Dakar. Ok call me lazy but I normally have ABR dialled in this time of year for good up to date info etc etc. We have 5 lads out there giving it there all, can the usual suspects start input or are they away spectating...?? I'm stuck in the Baltic Sea with basic wifi and no sports channels hosting the event so if anyone can dial in here...???!!!

Boring and dull

It's passed its sell by date & it's not even on the right continent now

I used to be a fan, not any more

Boring and Dull!!!!--why did you bother to post!!--Jenny has given us the ADV blog site which is many pages long so far and keeps you up to date---and I subscribe to Eurosport for a few quid on my pc. All I can say is that so far (with a good half hour evening slot) the coverage has been great with plenty of excitement(you can also backtrack and watch the videos)--Sam Sunderland lying SECOND I think on a Honda and Lyndon Poskit smiling and getting plenty of coverage on his pea green KTM--they are now entering Bolivia--in HD the scenery is absolutely stunning anyway. Top speeds on the 450 s are 180 kph so far and the cars are over 200 kph--the new peugeots really do look the part--get with the world!!
ps I'm way past retirement age so its not a kids thing!

second that--rather sad and unnecessary really when someone was trying to follow it and wanted help.

Its definitely not past its sell by date, it has just evolved into a more corporate event, there are plenty of other replies in Africa and Europe with a more corinthian spirit as the early dakar was but no matter which way you look at the Daker is the pinnacle of rallying and i love it...Good luck to everybody having a crack this year (thumbs)
