I also work for Highways England so was obviously aware of this very soon after it happened. What I didn't realise was who Paul is until now.
Good luck with the recovery mate, keep fighting.
My deepest sympathy to the family of the Officer who was killed, my heart goes out to both of you and your families.

Very sorry to hear of the sad loss of your colleague and such a tragic event my thoughts go out to everyone. I hope you are on the road to recovery.
I used to work on the Highways and all to aware of the dangers and risks you face every day to keep others safe.

I am agog. I just come across this and I am writing this with a tear in my eye.

Paul and Maria are two of the worlds most beautiful, humble and delightful people you could wish to meet.

My condolences go out to Adam and his family. No one should kiss his wife goodbye and not come home again.

People that know Paul and Maria will know that they have not been dealt many good cards and struggle to keep afloat. That is why Paul took on the Highways job in the first place.

Get well soon Paul and thanks for the update Bernard.

Greetings folks.

A few posts on here have referred to Maria, Paul's EX wife.

Not wishing to down play in any way what she will be feeling about this, but his current domestics involve a person named Allison whom he has been with for a little while now; in case you turn up in the future and put your foot in it......

Best wishes and I'll update as and when I hear anything.

Bernard.

Ps I'll probably see some of you at the Malvern Rally anyway.

Respect to all who are in this line of work...Highway Patrol....recovery truck drivers...ambulance drivers etc.

These are the same people that Clarkson called 'wombles'...which says more about him than them IMO!

Thanks Bernard.

I just bought a GWS card and would have probably been the first to put my foot in it.

In the circumstances, is it OK to send one to Takoda and will he get it ?
