Are bikers going nesh ?
Re: Are bikers going nesh ?
These days riding a bike is strictly for pleasure, either riding in sunshine or rain ie: riding in the Alps, Pyrenees or Picos is Ok, anything that makes it an endurance test of your rugged macho manliness & can be avoided, will be.

I don't mind being out on the bike and getting caught in the rain. But I would never plan to go out in the rain, why would you? Visibility is far worse, the roads are far more slippery and there is far more chances of you falling off or somebody else not seeing you and hitting you.
I, like many people on here have a family and would like to carry on seeing them.
I do about 10k miles a year and obviously get caught in the rain occasionally. But plan to go out in it...no thanks.

Its the week after Christmas so possibly people are tightening belts etc. We humble commuters have no option but to brave the elements.

I ride for fun and that's the only reason.
I had too many years commuting in crap weather to want to do it again but if it happens to be raining or gets cold when I'm away it's just a case of crack on and get it over with.

I enjoy riding in the rain can't see the the problem with it TBH, ok it's not the same as a sunny bimble down the coast for a ice cream,
I think if you have the right kit for the days ride you are having its enjoyable, some of my most memorable days out have been started in the rain (thumbs)
