I would do the same. The damage at the moment looks more cosmetic than anything and it wasn't an impact.

Every engineers friend

We repaired a valve body and pressure tested it to over 100Bar, no problem!

The internal damage is even worse than external. The mechanic advised that a fabricated repair may not allow the tyre to sit on the bead properly.

Is that a single sided swingarm? What I can see of the wheel looks the same as my Triumph one or maybe a Ducati one would fit.

have a look at the dyna mag wheel (ducati), i see these machined to fit a lot of street fighters think the honda nc30 or vfr might not look right.

Magnesium wheels on road bikes & SALT realy don't go together. Think they are banned for road bikes in Germany.
Don't Guzzi do an Alloy version which should be half the price.

P.S. My repair sugestion which was removed by MODERATOR clearly stated that it was only suitable for a COSMETIC repair.(i.e. doesn't affect the mechanical working of the part)

If the inside is a bit chewed up I would repair with Devcon or Belzona type of metal repair epoxy, this is not a bodge job type of material it is well used in industry
And fit a tube if your concerned about sealing on the rim,
it would help if there was a picture of the inside as any fitter who is asked is it ok will not put himself on the line he is going to say you need a new wheel
There is a cast wheel repair place by the Merry hill centre in the midlands can't remember there name at the minute but they have repaired a couple for me that looked well f##### on my FireBlade
If your not the lead dog the view never change's

Don't think the moderator is going to like this WHEEL/METAL REPAIR EPOXY. . What they don't realise is that Aeroplanes & CCM Frames are bonded together with this stuff. This is not a bodgers product!
