An invitation 2

Post by Treadtrader »

I'm copying Trailquest here.
I live in a cottage on a farm in Warwickshire, very rural, surrounded by fields and woods.
I have a garden big enough for three tents, four at a squeeze.
Anyone is welcome to use our place for a stopover or welcome just for a "get away from it all" weekend.
Nearest village has two pubs, great Indian and chippy.
Lots of good riding with an easy run into the Cotswolds.

Hi Treadtrader sounds good, may take you up on the offer and of course return the favour, if you fancy a weekend in Dorset by the sea.

Welcome anytime Jim. Sounds like a good idea to share info like this.

The crows got the cherries, plums and apples are coming on well though.

Great idea, be nice to meet more like minded people, even if its camping behind a local boozer or friendly farmers field.

Hmmm happens all over the country every weekend... and I mean every weekend. except if Xmas falls on a weekend.

Club Bike Rallies!

The smaller ones are great for testing out luggage packing and gear, and the people are generally more friendly... there maybe a rite of passage for "virgins" though so be warned... not strangling chickens but a wee bit of ritual humiliation... so never tell anyone it's your first one ;)

Many are in fantastic parts of the country and often the small club ones are in the wilds and take a bit of "orienteering" to find them as there are no postcodes and street numbers for the "SatNav" dependent to use, but WE all know GPSs' use latitude and longitude :)

Catering is usually dreadful, beer is often warm and from cans but the hospitality and the craic is genuine.

Like any social occasion you get out what you put in.

I can fit the tyres when we return from the pub, much more fun when balancing.
