I thought that a motorcycle didn't need a reflective triangle in europe, only vehicles?

I live in Central Europe but the laws are similar for all european countries

The law in Europe for motorbikes is that you must carry the following.
1. High Viz jacket
2. First aid kit
3. Spare bulbs
4. Passport
5. EU or International Driving licence
6. International insurance.
7. Your motorbike must conform to the road testing standards of the country that you are passing through.

Failure to have these if you are stopped by the police will bring some grief!!!

Hazard Warning triangle is only for cars, vans and trucks
Winter tyres must be fitted( after October) to all cars, vans and trucks motorbikes excluded but thats beacuse you will not see any on the roads when it has been snowing or ice.

Do not rely on finding them in some small village or someone stopping to help you thats nuts. I once had to travel over 50kms in Austria to find a garage that sold motorbike full synthetic oil.

Be self sufficient and be prepared in Europe a lot of rural garages( especially in Italy) have longer lunch breaks(closed) and are closed at the weekends and do not carry spares.

Been there done that got caught out and now know better!!!

if you are travelling on the bike in europe, you do not need one.
but if you want belt and braces look at a helmet bag which has a reflective triangle printed on it.

but again on the bike no requirement to carry one.

Your vehicle must comply to the standards required in its country of registration, for UK that means an MOT certificate. Your document pack must also contain the vehicle registration document, the UK V5.

There is no legal requirement to carry a warning triangle, HiViz or bulbs in Germany.

If you really want to then go for the helmet bag style, I got a couple for under a tenner years ago for xrv forum I may have one or two in the celler. I'll look tomorrow
