I'm sure we on this forum can get something organised and meet up for a bit of light trail riding in the area. Anyone got any ideas? Looking on Trailwise there's not to many Green lanes on the South East side of Brum.

I'm on Tourances too, so I wont be looking for anywhere too muddy just yet! GS's are not the lightest bikes to pick up in the slop!
Theres a few around, means a bit of road riding between them though, couple in Solihull, redditch etc, not massive ones but still ok for a play.

I've got a drz for lanes so no bbrr experience but I'd be up for a brum get together :)

Let's see if we can get something organised..

Alun - Midlands rally looks great, I'm out of the country on those dates unfortunately but ill definately be looking out for your post for a ride-out starting in stratford, sounds spot on.

F.E.S, good call on the brum run, ill drop a reply on that one in a minute.

had a hankering for a DRZ for a while special one, just an old one that i could chuck in the back of the van for weekends away - GS doesn't fit you see! they aren't much smaller (or lighter) than my van to be fair! be interested to know which trails you've done around solihull etc, you able to make the run F.E.S started?

It's a lovely sunny day in Stratford upon Avon and we're hosting our first ABR night tonight - a perfect ride out for all you Midland based ABRs. Check it out here.

Hey Poulton,
I'm nowhere near the Midlands, but if you do attend the BMW ORS/RiDE event next Tuesday, I'll see you there. We may be the only ones. The ORS site still lists the same number of spaces available as they did a month ago.

If you haven't made your tyre selection, I thought I'd put in a good word for the TKC80s. I have a pair on my KTM 640 Adv and they are really quite fine on paved road and in the rain.

I don't know which part of the ORS site has been allocated for the event next Tuesday, but that place can get very muddy, especially with all the rain we've had recently.

Welcome to ABR mate,

my bike is knackered right now, but as soon as its fixed I'm going to be badgering Alun to come out and play maybe get a group together. ;)

Just don't tell him yet, as I find badgering works best as a surprise attack.

Sounds good Craig, I'll keep an eye out for the badgering attack and join in!

Hi Stuart, I got a phone call from ORS just last week to say that the bike event is cancelled now and that they would process a refund, lack of interest apparently. Shame, I was really looking forward to it. Might be worth giving them a call to see if they are processing a refund for you too, have found they aren't that great on the contact front so they might just be taking a while to get around to you.

Hi Poulton,

I got a call from ORS this morning. I'd been travelling without my phone last week, so missed their earlier attempt. It is a shame, but somehow I'm not surprised. The event was promoted to appeal to riders who don't usually get their bikes dirty. Turns out most of those guys really do not want to get their bikes dirty.

I'm now looking into some of the events organized by www.bigbikerallychallenge.co.uk in the same region.
