The strange noise is vibration between the headlamp rim and the shell ... lots of them have it ... I put 2 layers of electrical tape between the rim and shell and it has gone forever ...

My number 1 tip .... get some mirror extenders from Amazon ..... all the wind buffet disappears ...

Still loving mine. I intend to do my own servicing once it is out of warranty. I expect I will change the oil and filter every 3000 mile but do a full check every 6,000.
More accessories etc are starting to appear now, Hitchcock have quite a few including some go faster bits if that is your thing. The biggest improvement I have made is cutting the side stand down. The bike was far too vertical before and you has to be really careful when leaving it in the side stand. I would be interested to know what tyres people use if they have changed them. I find the standard Pirellis okay on the road and dry dirt but they clog up easily in wet mud. Once they get over about 3,000 miles they start to feel a bit skittish when going over white lines etc.

Bought a Himalayan just before Xmas and love it. Also had a few Armstrong MT500's year's back which were ok and probably more solidly built. Only time will tell.

Yep, remember my MT500 well. Motor was nice, but awkward kick start on the left which sometimes could be a little temperamental especially when it stalled halfway up a slope off road.... or under mud

Loads more down low torque, much like the MT500 but in a better road bike chassis. Took it down a potholed lane and I’d be more comfortable taking the Himalayan down it than the CB500x. Felt like weight was much lower down. May see what they’ll do on a part ex. cause I really enjoyed the ride
