I’m one of those who buy a bike, sel it, buy another, repeat, repeat, repeat!
A few on here will no doubt know me, many of them from running me to various A&E departments every time I’ve fallen off - thought I was the bees knees at enduro riding, but for some reason I’m safer on tarmac. That said, I’ve decided to give it another go , so gone for the soft option - a GS Rallye - this one is the Sport, or TE, which I’ve specced as much as I can, then striped down, removing the supplied seat (Rallye seat in its place), pillion footpegs and swapping the screen for a low sports one. Added some nifty engine bars from Wunderlich, which are a great match to the frame.
Had a couple of GS before and an Adventure too, which I just found too bulky, although a great machine. Back with a little more experience, I hope I can sneak a little off the beaten track with the Rallye. I’m certainly not scared of the odd scratch.
Took this snap in Skipton a week or so back.
Since then I’ve chucked on a headlight guard, some indicator guards front and rear and I’ve decided to go for the aluminium panniers (no top box) a tinted sports screen and some HP levers, which will go on this week.
All the gear - no idea, but I have more time now and already planning for some trips away, home and abroad, a ROSPA course and looking into a few off-road shin digs in sunnier climes...
Hope to catch up with some of you guys on here and maybe out in the open.

Hi Burnsey, there are a few of us around the NW, personally i live in Leigh and there are a few assorted 'Mancs' that get together at weekends for rides. Rederic quite often leads them and finds some cracking lanes and minor roads

Welcome Burnsey but bet you ain't the oldest on here! I can confirm that you are not the only one to buy sell, give then buy another etc etc.
Nice bike but I had to admit defeat and sell mine, just too heavy to manhandle at my age but a brilliant ride.

i am the good looking one on the right. Re: Old Newbie (North West)
Really appreciated to all, especially the handsome devil on the right (!).
Due to wifey commitments I’ve not been out on the bike for two weekends now. It’s getting its cover off in the morning for a trip to Preston Motorrad for a few more bits
I’m keen to do the North Coast 500 over the next month. Weather isn’t guaranteed, but reckon three nights will be enjoyable and sufficient to do it enjoyably. Just need a few mates now...
