Back to riding after a few years off, planning to do some adventuring. Though taking it slowly as the basic road-only experience I have is rusty and only picked up my new (used) bike yesterday. Stumbled upon the ABR magazine by accident a couple of weeks ago - amazed to find there was an UK based adventure riding magazine at all, and even more so to find it wasnt just advertorials.
First bike was a 1980s Honda CB250T (250 4-stroke in a 400 frame = awful) in Australia in the early 90s until I came off, broke my wrist and couldn't ride for ages. My first UK bike in 2008 was intended to be for touring, but a mate who's a Fireblade disciple talked me into getting a 1996 Thundercat instead. Kept that for a few years before selling, getting tired of numb legs and hands, sore back and neck, etc. And now it's time to actually do that touring!
