New racing nut

Post by Bluebull2007 »

Hi guys. B)

Relatively new to biking (only 12yrs now) and starting late I'm not very fast but consider myself to be an amateur racer and weekend adventure rider.

I have been lucky enough to have ridden in the following amazing countries:
Peru
Brazil
Chile
Ecuador
Bolivia
Nevada
Ghana
Swaziland
Spain
South Africa
My wife also rides and we did some epic trips in about half of these countries together. She was on a 650GS.

I got into racing and came 8th in the World Class chamionship on the Dos Sertoes Rally in Brazil in 2010, despite breaking my foot. You can read all about it here. I have chased a couple of Dakars and am an avid Dakar fan as well.
I have also competed in the Amageza rallies in 2012 & 2014 which are in South Africa.
I'm planning to race again this year in November.

Since I got into rally, I have determined that the best way to do DS riding is on a smaller bike. Easier to ride, more fun in the rough stuff, and as A result I have learn the minimalist approach is the best way to go when packing for a long trip.

Looking forward to meeting you chaps, & keep the shiney side up. :woohoo: (thumbs)

Yes, in 2007 they were the team, and they had liefling.

I was in Asturias, Spain for the last couple of years, but now Im back in South Africa - for now. The plan is to move to Botswana/Zimbabwe/Zambia/DRC in the next 6 months to one year, depending on where I can get a new business started. Yes I am aware that DRC & Zim are not going very well at all (sic), but it does not bother us, Mrs BB & I are okay with that. You dont have to be crazy to do this, but it certainly helps!
