Hi From Buxton UK

Post by XF650 »

Hi everyone, I'm from Buxton, Derbyshire, UK which is right on the notorious Cat n Fiddle A537 road. Brief history - love bikes, had about 90 so far in the last 38 years. Had to get rid of my ZZR1400 few months back due to inevitability of me losing my licence. Really miss the power. :( Been a London dispatch rider from the late '70s to late '80s and it's only in the last couple of years that I seem to have finally got rid of some bad dispatcher habits. Got my XF650 to compliment and contrast the 1400 but it's been such a superb all rounder that I'm now regarding it as a keeper. Also recently got a Suzi VX800. Have had a couple of Vstrom 1000's and would have ideally got me a Guzzi Stelvio/Yamaha Tenere 1200/? BUT really don't like all the electronic aids they put on bikes these days now so I'll be going backwards in time. Maybe it's cos I'm an old git but even with the FJ1200 I had to rip out the ABS cos I couldn't stand the extra weight and fuss!

Gotta say, with all the pot holes around, I think adventure/trail bikes are the future must have. :woohoo:

Guess that's it for now, looking forward to the forum!

welcome :)
rode a trail with a guy on a Freewind whilst in NZ, looked a great bike, needed a bit of TLC but he was really chuffed with his bargain find. Yours looks immaculate! :)
