We joined the main N59 and headed on through Westport and Newport, where Barry & Allan had to head for home. I still had the rest of the day and all of the next before i was due home.

Drifted in and out of the Wild Atlantic Way for a bit

You guys got a great trip. The best of weather too. The photos tell it all and bring me back down memory lane. I have similar photos someplace of doing that in 1975, many of them in those exact places yours are taken and its as fresh in my mind and the nice bits are really unchanged. I had a Honda CB500-4 back then, started on new tyres and needed a rear when I got back.

In the next 2-3 years some of us flew hang gliders from the Conor Pass and at Achill too.

I laughed at the Rover, spotted that recently and it's labelled 2000 on the boot but the bonnet is off a 3500 V8, it's got the V8 cylinder head bulges.

For anyone thinking of it, it's really a trip of a lifetime. I do bits of it every year.

You missed one place though. Craggy Island!!

Seeing as I left the Atlantic Ocean on the west in the morning I thought I may as well ride to the Irish Sea on the east. So rode to Warrenpoint via Enniskillen, Clogher, Aughnacloy, Caledon, Middletown, Keady, Newtownhamilton, Newry. A great days biking.

Finally - a big thank you to KTM Barry who lead this trip for most of the way with the aid of his mobile phone and a Google maps app - would not have been able to cover the roads we did in the five days had it not been for him and his phone - a great trip.
