Hi Flintock

Was having a look at the OSNI (I have a login to get the maps).
Depends if we want to go north or south - there's nothing stopping us heading south into Monaghan or even down to Drogheda direction.

But would we be stopping off at sites of interest....or purely "on the road" (man)?!

I think we will go for the traditional bike ride out, I think there should be a run to include Strangford Lough and the Mournes, with a few stops for smoke pics etc. Also a lunch stop included.

My ride out is going to take in the North West on the Saturday however I will have a plan B should he weather not suit. I will post details of it on the Ireland rally thread soon-it's a ful day ride, so it might not suit everybody, so it would be good if there was another shorter local rideout made available

Moorso,

Just saw your maps, the route around Strangford looks good. Maybe half of that route (west side) combined with the Mournes would do the job

Couldn't agree more - the west side of Strangford has some great roads, and would be a good run out. Combined with the Mournes I think that'd make for a pretty awesome day.

Glad you said stopping for smokes and pics too :P
I would suggest that one of the stop offs is Nendrum though (west side of Strangford) ....great site, very scenic, great for smokes and pics too!

All we need now is a volunteer to lead it
