Any regional groups in kent

Post by sexysi »

Just been having a look around the forum and there doesn't seem to be any regional meet ups for anybody in the South East.

Are there any South East riders, that actually meet up and do ride outs????

Interested in Green Lane riding and some off road stuff, yes got a big bike, but I know i can ride bits of the Pilgrims way, got to get some off road tyres first though.
Just wondered if anybody else was doing similar stuff.

Hi Si,

I'm in the southeast (Sittingbourne) and it seems that ABR members are a bit thin in the ground around these here parts, either that or no one wants to ride with me

Whenever I've met any members it's been down on the south coast or Salisbury.

I too have a big bike (Varadero) but am currently not using it at all due to a back problem, maybe in the spring (hopefully) ill be back on it.

I know a few lanes but none of them are very long.

I'll gladly show you them in the future if you like.

:)

Yes mate, that would be cool. It is very hard to find byway's in Kent that you can actually ride on. Hopefully some more riders will come out of the woodwork. I have done several parts of the Pilgrims way, at night on a mountain bike, and i know a couple of bits are byways that bikes can go on. Failing that there are a load of decent b roads. There is a good quick run from Edenbridge to Lingfield, which has some nice long sweeping curves, tarmac, but still fun stuff. Did a ride out there on a SV several years ago, had great fun.

Of course there is the Ford at Eynsford, where I live, good for a laugh. Did that the other day @ just under 2 feet deep, Tiger went through and survived. Ok got very wet boots, as my clearence on the Tigger is on 11 inches, but worth it....

Not in Kent, but I do a fair few runs in The Surrey Hills and over to Alton and beyond :) ,
Your more than welcome to come over, just did a Big Bike ride ( )

Going out tomorrow to do some pics of a TRF ride :)

Also there's the BLORC on the 2912 ( http://www.adventurebikerider.com/forum ... 9-dec.html ) which should be good :)

Si,

I am out a lot in Kent on an xt660z Tenere along with mates on an F800GS, DRZ400,and a couple of other Tens. I am happy if you want to tag along in the spring or when you have some knobblies fitted but give it a month as I am currently off the bike with an injury.Don't really do tarmac but may look to do a ride over to Sussex/surrey to hook up with some others to explore there. ;)
Just seen your other thread re byways, easiest thing to do is go and buy some OS maps(1:50000), mark them up and go and explore with the TRF or someone from here, but not alone, or it could end like this....
