Quantocks today - ABR rider spotting

Post by Womble »

I was down in Taunton today for a conference and as it was such a lovely day decided to take off after lunch :)

So a trip towards Minehead on the A358, crossed across to West Quantoxhead and a spin up and down the A39 several times between St Audries and Kilve - spotted a group with ABR stickers including another V-Strom and another blue V-Strom a few miles later.

Then later up and down Cheddar Gorge several times :)

Was it you I spotted?

Were you the chap in that rather nice Volvo, with the reflective checker pattern down the sides of it, and one of those blue light bars on the roof, that was flashing your lights at us in appreciation of our riding style?
The end of the road is the start of the fun

That'll be the 3 :)

Porlock is lovely

It'll be lovely down there today, don't miss out on riding through Valley of the Rocks just the other side of Lynton, and the toll road from Porlock, also to Watersmeet take the road to Simonsbath for some lovely scenery and a few hairpins. Also the B3227 on the way back ... and the A396.. so many lovely roads... which is why Somerset is excellent.. and cider :)

Errr, flashing lights... hope not. Though the A39 does really annoy in places where there's solid lines in the middle of the road, yet easy over taking on a bike

Nice one Womble, Agree the A39 is no fun anymore, just a means to an end, once you get past Minehead its :woohoo:

Hi Womble, It was me out and about, my previous reply was on my iphone with a very poor signal.
Weather was great this weekend, I've explored this area many times, did the toll road and Valley of rocks again, you just have too. :woohoo:
